Hello, Tuesday! It’s a cold, snowy morning in the Bluegrass and I am grateful to be alive, awake and aware. I’m grateful for the snow and it’s unique quiet, for waking early to enjoy the peace and solitude, for purring cats who are eager to greet me and then just as eager to return to their warm blankets, for my wife happily snoozing in a warm bed. I’m grateful for open spaces and big, big skies, billowy, shape-shifting clouds that command my attention and awe, for the best dog friend in the world who indulges me and patiently waits while I watch the sky. I’m grateful for those places with little skies, too – those close places with lots of trees and textures and shadows, my backyard, a playground for squirrels and moles and birds of all kinds. I’m grateful for all the time I’ve spent looking at cinder block walls all day or wall-to-wall carpet and glass and steel and all the experiences that have gotten me to right here and right now. What are you grateful for today?
