Hello Thursday! It’s a cloudy start to the day and the birds are singing, the squirrels are scampering and I am grateful to be alive and sipping hot coffee sitting next to an open window that is filled with a cat. I’m grateful for the joy of routine tasks and activities, for my wonderful friends who pray and send good energy and sweet voicemails and emails and comments and who understand when I can’t respond right away but that I will. I’m grateful for both my mother’s and my father’s great strength and toughness and love for each other. I’m grateful for my spouse who graciously picks up the slack when I can’t do the things I normally do but who intuitively knows when I need to do those things to feel normal for a little while. I’m grateful for all the nurses and doctors and techs and administrators who work hard to support my mother and our family. I’m grateful for my own physical stamina and the gift of a strong, healthy body and mind, the opportunity that a sprawling hospital complex gives me to stretch my legs and draw great, deep breaths and remember Spirit is active in my form. What are you grateful for today?
