Good Morning, Thursday! It’s a cool, misty morning in central Kentucky and I am grateful to be alive and living it. I’m grateful for a backyard that seems like a tropical paradise, for sharing this beauty with all the critters who call this spot home along with me, for the chipmunks and squirrels and moles and rabbits and bats, ducks and herons and hawks and owls, robins and grackles and starlings and wrens, snakes and centipedes and spiders. I’m grateful for my spouse’s safe return and the comfort of having her close, for her good heart and good works. I’m grateful to be her travel companion sometimes and for stepping out of our routines and patterns. I’m grateful for great neighbors and friends, my family, the peace that caregivers and sitters bring to family members and loved ones. I’m grateful for all the ways that the God of my understanding shows up for me – from the nurses and sitters who care for my mother, to the cop who smiles and nods at me, to the dog who wiggles her excited greetings, to the muted sunrise and glorious sunsets, the wisdom of my mentors and teachers, inspiration and ideas – all God, all Love, all signs and signals that I am supported and connected. What are you grateful for today?
