Hello Thursday! It’s a loud, rainy, wet morning in central Kentucky and I am grateful to be alive to hear the rough pellets of water pound the ground and leaves in the trees then to stream off toward the creek in furrows, all with a noisy music of its own, the backdrop of bursts of wind and airplanes lifting above the thick cloud cover, neighbors starting their vehicles and windshield wipers squeaking into action. I’m grateful for the light reflected off moisture suspended high in the atmosphere in such a way that it appears to be a different time of the day than I think it is, for a new perspective and the tricks of light and shadow. I’m grateful for my beloved spouse and all the joy that comes to me through her, for my family and the growing village that supports us and loves us, for sharing, for giving and receiving, for my spiritual community. I’m grateful for the rain this morning, for all that is possible because of that wonderful, life-giving , blessed rain, for the green fields and lawns, swollen creeks and rivers, irrigated crops and reservoirs and the reminder that we live in an opulently abundant universe. What are you grateful for today?
