Hello Monday! I am grateful to be alive this morning. I’m grateful for the waking up, for the quiet, the stillness – and knowing that in a world that seems to be reeling from chaos and tragedy, there remains an abiding peace that passes all understanding. I’m grateful that is what I understand. I’m grateful for the media details and interviews and perspectives, the opportunity to share in the pain and heartbreak, the solidarity and community and share love and compassion. I’m grateful for all the souls who have gone before me – as well as those brave souls today – who stand up for the rights of those whose voices are oppressed and suppressed, quelched and marginalized – for those who are victimized and sacrificed. And then I’m grateful to walk into my mother’s room in the nursing facility and be reminded of the Truth of who we all are, to know that tragedy does not live in all corners of the world right now, that chaos does not reign supreme, that the Truth of us is Love and Peace and Joy. I’m grateful for a poem that touched my heart and made me cry, for a mother who loves me and the great gift of sharing this last journey with her. What are you grateful for today?
