Happy Monday! Happy Fourth of July! It is a drizzly, cool summer morning in the Bluegrass and I am grateful to be alive and living it. I’m grateful to live in a place where we have the freedoms we do – the freedom to worship as you wish, to marry who you wish, to gather and protest and question and examine, to move and travel and explore. Right now, I’m grateful for the rain and the joy of the parched earth, for coneflowers – I love coneflowers! I’m grateful for all the variations in colors in coneflowers, the wild reds and bright oranges and greens and pinks and purples and yellows and even hints of blues! I’m grateful for a cat who is all about me this morning and his loud love and insistence on my attention. I’m grateful for my spouse and her affection and love and the joy I feel in her presence, for the best friends in the world and all the gifts in my life that transcend location, geography, politics and nationality. What are you grateful for today?
