Good morning, Friday. I am grateful to be alive and living this life and this day. I am grateful for a gorgeous sunrise over central Kentucky this morning, for chairs that unfold into beds, for not having to leave the building for Starbucks and all the conveniences that have made my last week comfortable. I’m grateful for my family and the dear friends who have prayed and conveyed words of love and support in the last week, for the staff at Baptist Health who have worked to keep my mother free from pain and discomfort. And I’m grateful for my sweet mother who still has a few more things to do here on this plane, for witnessing the amazing tenacity of life in what looks like incredible fragility, for the opportunity to support my father and celebrate the powerful bond he created with my mother. What are the things that are dear to you today?
