The Circle of Protection
I draw around me a circle of love and protection.
No harm can enter nor find place within that charmed circle of life and love, for it represents God’s Loving Care and Eternal Watchfulness.
I will rest within me now, and I will speak comfort to my Soul and tell It of all the wonders of Its life, safe from the din of strife and fear.
I am protected from On High.
~ Ernest Holmes
It’s the 18th day of November, 2016, and I am grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for my family, for spending a day with my dad and sister, Mollie. I’m grateful for the mix of cool and warm air on sunny November afternoons in Kentucky and for how that mix of air reflects the mix of emotions that is grief and being open to feeling it all. I’m grateful for the energy of history and remembering, for the landmarks in our lives, standing with my father in the place where he met my mother and being there for him, having some, small idea what this is for him. I’m grateful for our being able to grieve together. I’m grateful for my spouse and dear friends and all the places that love shows up in my life. I am truly blessed. Today, I intend to keep reminding myself that I am safe, that I stand in that place of Love and Peace, that there is always Good in the world and that there is something in all of us that responds to that Goodness, to focus on the Light knowing It is the only thing that ever changed the darkness. Peace and Blessings.
