Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Hello Sunday! I am grateful to be alive right here and right now, sitting quietly in the predawn of a lovely day in December in Kentucky and listening to a faint breeze rustling the hanger-on leaves outside my window. I’m grateful for morning dog walks and the chill air on my cheeks and the insulation of a thick, knit cap on my head, the warmth of mittens, my geeky over-the-glasses sunglasses, a healthy body that does what it was designed and created to do and the fun of moving about this planet, seeing sunrises, sleeping, eating tasty, healthy food, hearing lovely voices lifted in song, hugging and laughing. I’m grateful for all the souls that make up my spiritual community and Sundays mornings spent in their company. Today, I intend to root out all the places in my heart where bitterness, fear and negativity may be hiding and to soak up all the love, peace and fun that life has to send me. Peace and blessings.
