Happy Friday! I am grateful to be alive right here and right now. My life is happy and sweet and I am grateful for it. I am grateful for a new roof on the our house, the means to pay for it, the employer who said yes to me when I needed a job, date night once a week, delightful friends, dear family, happy cats, beloved mentors, dog friends whom I adore and long walks with them. By appreciating this gift of my life, I know I am changing things and bringing more good into being. I could float along this blissful river for the rest of my life and never complain. And yet, I am distressed by the things that are happening in the world today – even when they don’t seem to directly affect my daily living. I think this is God’s way of motivating me so, on a level, I’m grateful for these fitful, distressing times and the discomfort that moves me to take action and work to facilitate change, to be alert and consciously connect with the world around me, to be reminded that I am a change agent and I can contribute to the creation of a world that works for everyone. We all are. May I live today and everyday knowing that just as there would be no ocean without that first drop of water, I am an essential component of this delicate balance of life and that I count and I make a difference. Peace and blessings.
